FENCING Atkins Doubles Up 
Columbia University's Benjamin Atkins became the second fencer to win National 
Collegiate Athletic Association titles in two events when he beat Christopher 
Klaus of Princeton yesterday in the men's individual epee championship in 
Detroit, 6-5, 1-5, 5-2. He won the 1991 N.C.A.A. men's individual foil 
championship. Abraham Balk of N.Y.U. won the epee and foil in 1947. (AP)
